This new NWCSP consultation presents a draft set of evidence-based clinical recommendations and a draft clinical pathway for the prevention of pressure ulcers. Alongside a Best Practice Bundle (which is currently under development in partnership with the Nursing Directorate and Patient Safety Team) and supported by an implementation package based on improvement methodology, this work aims to reduce pressure ulcers and the harm associated with them, improve patient outcomes and experiences of care.
We would welcome feedback from stakeholders to further improve this work before we produce a final version which will be published on the NWCSP website.
To give feedback on the draft recommendations and draft pathway, please complete our online survey before 6pm 23rd of April.
These recommendations do not cover the reporting of pressure ulcers into the electronic patient record systems (or paper records where they are still used) and national databases including SUS, CSDS and incident reporting systems. Reporting issues will be addressed in a second phase of work.
Thank you for taking the time to complete, your input is so valuable.
